Our privacy approach

Cove keeps focus activity on your device. We do not use analytics or advertising, sell personal information, or track you across apps and websites.

Information Cove uses

Your selected apps, categories, and websites are represented by opaque Screen Time tokens. Focus settings, active sessions, and focus history are stored locally so Cove can block distractions and show your progress. Cove cannot read the content inside your selected apps or websites.

iCloud, purchases, and promo codes

Your trial start date and verified Lifetime Access status are stored locally and may sync through Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store. To prevent trial resets and verify access, Cove sends an Apple-signed app or purchase transaction and a random installation identifier to our Cloudflare verification service. When you enter a Cove promo code, the service also checks the code and records a pseudonymous redemption. We store only a one-way pseudonymous identifier, trial timestamps, product and transaction identifiers, purchase or revocation dates, and promo-code redemption metadata. Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit; Cove never receives your payment-card details.

Sharing and retention

Cove never sends your focus history or Screen Time selections to our server or advertisers. Apple processes Screen Time authorization, iCloud sync, and App Store purchases; Cloudflare hosts our entitlement database. Verification records are retained while needed to provide trial and purchase access. Local focus history remains until you clear it, and iCloud-synced access records may remain in your Apple account.

Support messages

If you email support, we receive the email address and message you choose to send. We use it only to respond to your request and retain it only as reasonably needed for support and legal obligations.

Your choices

You can clear focus history in Cove Settings and revoke Screen Time, notification, and iCloud permissions in iOS Settings. You can remove other local Cove data by deleting the app. Contact us if you have a privacy question about a support email you sent.
